Is it just me or is this summer flying by? I can’t believe Riley is turning the big O-N-E in just a couple of weeks! I remember this time last summer how pregnant, hot and uncomfortable I was. I was crossing my fingers little Miss would decide to come just a wee bit early, but nope, she decided her due date was the perfect time. I sure hope that means she will be a punctual person in life 😉
I’ve rounded up my top five favorite Instagram looks/trends and some great alternative pieces to shop on a budget.
You can do so many things with a good jumpsuit. Dress it up or down, take it from day to night, accessorize it or wear it alone. You can’t really go wrong in my book. Here are some of my favorites:
2. Denim Cutoffs
Nothing beats a comfortable pair of denim shorts that you can wear all summer long. I gravitate towards a darker wash and I’m picky about length (I’m 5’7″ after all). I’m open to splurging on a good pair of denim shorts that don’t scream “mom” , aren’t up my tush and have the right amount of stretch.

My husband confuses the jumpsuit and the romper on the daily (but I appreciate his effort!). On those hot, hot summer days, a romper is my best friend. Before Riley (BR), my go to would be a short summer dress. It was an easy throw on and go, no-brainer. But, mama has to bend down a lot more now (#momproblems) and in a romper, I don’t have to worry about flashing my neighbors when I put Riley in her carseat 😉
4. Distressed Jeans
Distressed jeans are seasonless. Throw on a pair of flip flops for a casual summer look or a strappy sandal for a summer date night. In the fall, pair them with a cute ankle bootie or a fun flat and in the winter, a knee-high boot. The possibilities are endless and that’s the best part!

5. Maxi Dress
I’ve always loved a good maxi. I lived in them when I was pregnant and I live in them when I’m not. For someone who’s legs barely tan, they are great when I want to cover up my casper-ness. Plus, they are just so comfortable.
